IncluCine

The goal of the IncluCine project is to launch an initiative to make European films accessible to historically marginalized people and groups. Together with partners from the Czech Republic and Iceland, we aim to diversify the audience of art cinemas by transforming them into community centres that support equal access to films for everyone.

As part of the project, we will map the current state of inclusive film activities across Europe. The outcome will be an online platform that informs interested parties about the current accessibility status of cinemas and enables them to find inclusive film screenings in their vicinity. It will also serve as a resource for examples of best practices and guidelines for launching similar screenings for cinema exhibitors.

Activities

Inclusive Screenings

Screenings tailored to the needs of various historically marginalised groups (autism-friendly, blind-friendly, dementia-friendly, etc.) in partner cinemas through adjustments in programming, spaces, and communication.

Training

Comprehensive and facilitated five-day training, uniting independent arthouse cinema professionals from across Europe to enhance their cinemas’ accessibility. This event offers a unique opportunity for cinemas to network, exchange expertise, and showcase their initiatives. Additionally, it provides a rich and engaging off-program experience. The training is designed for both those already involved in accessibility efforts and those just starting out.
