🗣️ GEN NAGASHIMA
Born and raised in the coastal town of Zushi, Japan, to a Japanese architect father and a British mother, Gen Nagashima developed a deep connection to both culture and community from an early age. In his twenties, he balanced careers as a musician and actor while also helping to launch beach houses and event spaces.

In 2009, Nagashima co-founded BASE LLC with photographer Rai Shizuno. BASE LLC was envisioned as a company that would serve as a collaborative hub for individual creators. That same year, he established CINEMA AMIGO, a cinema café in Zushi that functions as a cultural center, promoting local food, people, and culture.

In 2010, Nagashima launched the Zushi Beach Film Festival, which has since grown into a major event attracting around 25,000 attendees. As a key member of CINEMA CARAVAN, a collective born from the festival, he has been involved in international film festivals like the San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Tokyo International Film Festival, as well as art events such as Documenta Fifteen and the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, in addition to regional revitalization projects.

His local initiatives also include managing "AMIGO INN," a guesthouse, and "AMIGO HOUSE," a multi-purpose facility combining co-working spaces, a shared kitchen, and accommodation. He is actively involved in organizing the Zushi Art Festival and the Ikego Forest Music Festival. Recently, Nagashima launched a locally-produced circular detergent brand called "Jimoto no Senzai."

In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Nagashima continues to work as a musician, collaborating with a diverse range of artists.
